Either way, in the classic tradition of 3DMark, you will get the treat of watching an exciting action scene rendered in real time. A red mother ship type vessel, along with a retinue of fighters is attacking an ice asteroid colony. Industrial type ships and vehicles scramble to it's defense. A serious battle ensues complete with major explosions, unconventional weaponry, fighter dogfights and canyon chases.

3DMark for Android pushes the graphic capabilities of your device to the limit. Not only that but it also employs a physics test to see how it fares with complex physics calculations. Running a test will likely result in low frame rates since there is quite a lot going on. 3DMark also advises not to be surprised as the test is very demanding.

The app is a bit more than a rolling demo. You may chose between 3 demo scenarios, but the one recommended for you will be highlighted as such. Once a test has been run, you will be able to check its results anytime. In "My Device" you can see you device configuration and test scores. The final score is composed of two partial scores, Physics and Graphics.

In "Best Devices" you will get a list of other devices and how well their score is. This includes iOS and WinRT. You can also search for specific devices. Tapping on a device will open a comparison screen where every feature is put into balance with the current device, including scores.
